Why do I feel this way? Anxiety can take hold of your life and leave you feeling like you have lost control. Often clients will tell me that things are going well in their life; they have everything they thought they wanted, yet each day feels like an exhausting battle. Please know you are not alone. I understand the immense struggle anxiety can bring to our lives, and I can help you build the skills you need to manage it. As we work together to better understand your anxiety, I will help you learn tools so you can face your day and truly feel in control of those scary thoughts and feelings- and not the other way around.

Whether your anxiety comes from a specific event (e.g. a major life transition, a traumatic episode, relationship difficulties) or you have lived with anxiety for most of your life, I am here to help you. I use elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and a warm, client-centered empathetic approach to help you get your life back.

I have a special interest in pregnancy and postnatal mental health. For many of us, it can be an incredibly exciting but challenging phase of our lives. I bring my training in treating postpartum mental health disorders, plus my own experience to help navigate this difficult time. I find in our society there is little space for mothers to be honest and authentic with their struggles, and I am passionate about creating an environment where you are heard and validated.

A little bit about me: I feel truly grateful to be doing this work. From a very young age, I knew I wanted to be a therapist as I was always interested in supporting people, and am forever interested in what makes someone 'tick'. I began studying Psychology at York University back in 2001. I went on to obtain a counselling certificate in Trauma Counselling from George Brown College and earned a master's degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Calgary in 2014. Since completing my studies I have taken many, many training courses in psychotherapy approaches including Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Emotion-Focused therapy, Cognitive Behavior therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and various trauma approaches. I am fully registered and in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and meet their requirements as a Clinical Supervisor.
