I am a marriage/relationship and family counsellor.  I have over ten years experience supporting families. I also have clinical experience working as a Behavioual Consultant in Merritt, BC for children with complex needs and abilities. The cornerstone of my practice is grounded in the belief that people do all types of things to preserve their dignity and respond to and resist the adversity that they face. These responses can sometimes be misunderstood and/or seen as negative. However, in the context of lived experiences these responses start to make a lot of sense. I feel that once individuals, couples, or families begin to understand that their responses are signs of mental wellness, not metal deficit, they begin to feel better. From this perspective we will explore, in great detail, the context of each client(s) lived experiences. Clients are invited to attend individually or with their partner or family members. Together we will collaborate on goals and strategies for therapy.

I grew up in the small town of Clearwater, BC, and have lived in Kamloops for over 20 years. I live with my partner and our two children. As a partner and mother of two young children, I can relate to the stress and pressure that couples and families experience.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). I have a Masters Degree in Counselling from City University. In addition, I have a Bachelors Degree with a major in Sociology, a Certificate in Child Abuse Prevention, and a Diploma in Systemic Family Therapy. I believe in ongoing education, I am currently a student in the Response Based Practice Certificate program. I have also recently completed Narrative Therapy Training Level 1 as well as attended trainings on Trauma-Informed Practice, and anxiety. I have training in suicide intervention (ASIST). I practice from a number of therapeutic modalities including Response-Based Practice, Narrative Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
My goal is to provide a welcoming, collaborative, individualized experience for counselling. Sessions are typically 60 minutes. However, the first session is usually 75 minutes at no extra charge. This allows for some additional time for me to get to know you and explore the context of your life and concerns. I believe that counselling is a highly personal decision that is most successful when clients feel a rapport with their counsellor. Therefore, I welcome you to call and ask me any question and/or set up a time to come and visit my counselling space.
I am service provider and do direct billing for First Nations Health Authority. I also provide clinical counselling for ICBC claims, Crime Victims Assistance and Lifeworks. As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC# 13848) I can provide a receipt with my registration number for most extended health plans. I also do phone or Skype sessions.
I can be reached by phone/text at 250-819-1902 or by email at
