** I am available for in-person counseling at my office in Simsbury, CT and I am available for telemental health counseling for residents in Connecticut and New Jersey **

I consider myself an integrative and holistic therapist – and I mean this in two ways. The first is, when I collaborate with individuals, we look at the individual, relational, and career aspects of a person’s life. How do they fit together and how are they defined separately? Secondly, I want to get to the root cause of a person’s challenges. A person may be experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, or career setbacks. With most of my clients, I find that individuals are experiencing more than one of these at the same time. Throughout my education, training, professional and volunteer experience, I have placed an emphasis on a humanistic model of nurturing health while integrating the medical model when appropriate. I hold the belief that when the impediments to growth are understood and removed, we are naturally wired to heal and to grow. I also help employers find ways to support the mental health of their employees and thrive in the workplace. It’s important when employees come to work or working in a remote environment, that they feel valued, supported, and understood. A part of having employees feel this way is to understand the potential mental health concerns a workplace can create and to have policies that support mental health. Do employees have a lot of anxiety over deadlines coming up? Is there workplace bullying present and an employee doesn’t know where to turn? Has an employee recently lost a loved one and there are limited bereavement polices in place? Many different mental health situations can come up in the workplace and it is important how a company responds to them.  It can be the difference of having a thriving, strong, productive, and profitable workforce vs. a weak, negative, and inefficient workforce that is floundering to make a profit.
