About Trina Battersby:
Trina is a Registered Social Worker with a genuine interest in helping people. She has lived and worked in Southeast Saskatchewan her whole life, and has a good understanding of the challenges and advantages of living in a rural area.
Trina has twenty years of experience in the human service field with experience working for non-profits, education, and in private practice. She has worked in public schools in both urban and rural communities for more than fifteen years providing support to students and families.
In 2017 Trina began her private practice specializing in grief and loss. Her experience responding to traumatic events in schools and personal experience with grief led her to open up a part-time counselling practice. She sees a need to provide a supportive professional service with a small town feel. She strives to provide prompt communication and flexible appointments to meet the needs of her clients.

Trina has a passion for supporting people in the area of grief and loss, however, she is also experienced in other areas:

grief and loss;

parenting;
support for adults to help children and youth with emotion regulation challenges;

Philosophy:
Trina aims to develop a trusting and collaborative relationship with people so they feel valued and understood and can access their own skills and inner strengths to overcome life's obstacles. She uses a companioning approach in a safe and supportive environment to understand and support people on their journey to wellness.

Therapeutic Approach:
Trina utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches to best meet the needs of the person. Some approaches are:

Companioning Approach- the person is the expert in their life;
Neuroscience Approach to Anxiety;
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy;
Solution-Focused Therapy;
Family Systems Therapy;
Narrative Therapy.

Services:
Trina provides individual and couple counselling services either in person, by phone, or virtually and provides a free initial consultation to ensure the service is a good fit for you. Cost:
Trina's rates are $120 per 60-minute session for adult and couples and $140 per 60- minute session for children and youth sessions. Trina provides receipts with her designation that may be covered by insurance. Please check with your insurance provider for Registered Social Worker --MSW.
