I help people struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, and spiritual seeking.

You are a kind, compassionate, intelligent, high-achiever. Yet you may have spent your entire life trying to meet the expectations and demands placed on you by others, and feel like nothing is ever enough.

You’ve dealt with all the challenges thrown your way, and yet it feels like those challenges never stop. You might be struggling silently with anxiety and depression, until you feel overwhelmed and hit your limit. It can be easy to question whether anybody else really understands the pressures you face, what makes you happy, and where to invest your time.

I have been there in my own journey of healing. I understand how lonely and isolating it can feel. I also understand the change that can come from receiving support. I know that each person has a unique way of healing. I want to help equip you with the tools needed to thrive.

You deserve to feel calm and peaceful in your own body.

You deserve to feel supported in your relationships.

You deserve to live your most fulfilling life.

If you want to stop feeling anxious, overcome depression, and heal trauma, I would be honoured to walk alongside you.

Hi, I’m Tristan.

I’m passionate about empowering people who feel misunderstood, ashamed, anxious, and lonely, to feel comfort and acceptance in their own mind, body, and spirit.

My own healing journey wasn’t straightforward. I experienced complex childhood trauma, and was surrounded by communities that reinforced shame. I went through most of life being made to feel that I was the problem for not simply getting over my past and moving on. And believe me… I tried!

What I didn’t know was that all the things I felt made sense.

Feeling social anxiety in groups, feeling lonely and detached even when I was in relationships, and wanting connection but not knowing how to let people in. These were all products of intergenerational trauma, racism, and oppression. Being able to safely explore these feelings at my own pace with knowledgeable therapists helped me learn to love and trust myself, find new meaning in my faith, and cultivate supportive relationships.

Healing my own trauma has helped me understand the unique ways that anxiety, grief, loss, spiritual crises, trauma, and burnout all overlap. My abilities to support others in feeling inner security, fulfilment, and joy are informed by my lived experience as a trauma survivor, and a lifelong commitment to spiritual and meditative practice.

I use integrative psychotherapy to tailor our sessions to your unique needs.

You can expect me to draw on the following approaches:

  •  Relational Psychodynamics: We help shed light on how your current problems formed within relationship to others, yourself, and your environment, and focus on developing new tools to break patterns that are keeping you stuck.
  • Somatic Awareness: I help you learn how to reconnect to emotions stored within the body, and release the accompanying anxiety, depression, and tensions. This helps you free up more energy for the activities and people that are important to you.
  • Spiritual Counselling: For individuals who are interested, we focus on exploring new ways that your spirituality/faith tradition can be a source of support, and stepping out of the beliefs that restricted you.

Where appropriate, we may also explore tools from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family Systems Theory, and Post-modern Constructivist approaches.
