Depression can come from multiple sources. A lack of confidence and self-esteem are major causes of depression. Depression can also be seen as the opposite of expression, meaning that some people hold anger and assertiveness inside. Yes, the advertisements are correct, Depression hurts! It hurts physically, emotionally, spiritually and relationally. It is also about hope. I work with clients to increase their hope. Benefits of depression work include more energy, better sleep, increased ability to focus, added sense of joy, greater functioning on the job and in relationships. Clients report more satisfaction with their spouse or significant other, with their children, with their friends, with their bosses and co-workers. Our Clinicians provide supportive, caring psychotherapy for those who are experiencing depression. The client is initially assessed by the therapist and together they will develop the most appropriate plan for for the client's treatment goals. Clinicians approach will be tailored to each client's needs. Depending on the client's needs supplemental services may be necessary and/or beneficial. When this is the case, the clinician will help guide the client to additional resources/referrals.
