All of us have heard the old saying that it's important for us to love ourselves. Many of us, however, don't adhere to that in any way that is helpful to us or the people around us. Why do we have to do this? Isn't it just good enough that we love other people well? What in the world does loving myself have to do with anything? What if I think that I'm an unlovable person? These are the types of questions that come up when this topic comes up.

ADHD is a learning disability that occurs in both children and adults, and can play a significant role in someone's life. The issue is, of course, if you know how to deal with it. Your attention may be all over the place, or you may have a hard time completing tasks because of this disorder. That being said, there are a lot of ways that you can deal with ADHD, whether the case of ADHD in question is for an adult or a child.

The pressure on both men and women to beautiful is enormous. Media images, advertisements, and pressure from others can overwhelm our judgment about the risks we’re willing to take. Weighing the risks and benefits of behaviors and procedures, and understanding our own motivations can go a long way toward keeping us healthy.

Insecurity is one of those feelings that everyone feels at least once in their lifetime. That being said, it doesn't make it any easier for you to deal with it. Especially during the holidays, we may find that there are a lot of things that are going on and a lot of people that we see that make us feel a little bit insecure about ourselves. Because of that, it's important for us to think about how we deal with insecurity and why it is, sometimes, a huge part of the lives that we are living. We're going to explore both of those things today in hopes that you will be able to deal with insecurity in a healthy manner.

Procrastination. It's one of those words that we kind of avoid talking about because we think that it's a "bad word" or that it only applies to those who are in certain periods in their lives. That being said, there are a lot of things that we can procrastinate on, and honestly, it doesn't just apply to work or school. We could totally avoid certain events in our lives, or we can push off conversations that we have to have with people that we love. For some of us, "putting things off" is in our blood and we try to do everything that we can in order to do so.

Several different types of counseling, including Art Therapy, are available and have been shown to help people heal from the effects of emotional trauma (Moon, 1994). Art Therapy, specifically, has been a treatment for mental illness for over 100 years, but it is a type of therapy that people may not consider when seeking help. This type of therapy can help both children and adults to process a traumatic event and begin to heal (Art Therapy and Mental Health, 2009).

How much passion should a psychologist have for clients' issues to get resolved? Therapy should be a place where you can discover different sides of yourself, and then work with your therapist to make sure that your needs get met in a way that makes space for diverse feelings. If it is a supportive and collaborative environment, therapy can be a great place to discover and make peace with different sides of yourself so that you can move forward in an integrated, self-aware manner.

Everyone is unique, and we will each answer these questions in different ways.
