I specialize in online parent coaching with the goal of helping you and your family have a closer more intimate relationship. After 11 years of working with children and families, I have concluded that this is the most effective way I can support families because you parents are the leaders of your home. If I can empower you through my knowledge and experience to implement some strategies at home, you can achieve your goals for your family. I am a registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern and am completing a Ph.D. in Marital and Family Therapy. I focus on building stronger relationship attachments by helping you communicate emotions. I have advanced training in experiential approaches to family therapy (Gestalt therapy and emotionally-focused therapy)--this just means I help facilitate greater emotional contact between family members.

In family therapy the issues are clarified, and then the importance of mutual respect and understanding of the needs of each member is emphasized. I help families members collaborate with each other to set up basic rules and chore assignments, and then work out appropriate consequences for violations. Each member of the family is to become aware of the fact that he/she has an important function in the family dynamics.

I use Emotionally Focused Family Therapy to help with the underlying negative cycles that lead to major communication disconnections between family members, such as mothers/ daughters. Sometimes families find themselves at an impasse and need a third objective party to help problem-solve. I work to help families bridge these impasses by bringing involved parties together and looking for common goals/strengths, what is currently working, what needs to change, and then helping the family to talk together to find resolution.
