Given the wide variety of family issues I have encountered over the years, I have adopted an integrated therapeutic approach. Hence, clients will receive general psychoeducation in a number of areas including: values discovery, parenting, interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, boundary setting, sibling rivalry, mutual respect and accountability to mention a view. As your "group therapy leader," session time will be effectively managed. Role-plays will be utilized extensively to allow for relative freedom of expression. In addition, homework assignments are a prominent and prevalent component to our intervention strategy. Finally, priority is given to confidentiality and trust.

Although individual counseling is important in your healing process, adding family counseling in addition with individual sessions helps to provide a holistic approach to your therapy. Family counseling can range from support from one's family in an individuals healing or working together as a family to strengthen the bond of the family system. It is important each member feels worthy within the family and has a voice. Family counseling can help you and your family interact and communicate more effectively.

Family dynamics can be very complex. Each member can see things from their own perspective and the need for respect within families is immensely important. Each person needs to have a voice and a choice to speak their mind in a therapeutic setting. My approach to family therapy is simple and effective. It is what I jokingly refer to as “English to English translation”. I can teach you how to talk to your teen(s) in a way that will be heard and understood. I can show your children the benefits of talking & listening to you. Once we have improved overall communication in the home problems that do come up will be resolved much faster and with noticeably less stress. Most family therapists inadvertently create more chaos through their well-intentioned efforts to assist a family move through a change process. Why?
