Family therapy is an area that I am passionate about. I feel that most of our issues can find its root in our family of origin. Everyone wants to be heard, and everyone wants to be valued. However, no one is being heard or valued, because we are all speaking so loudly that we can only hear ourselves. Sometimes we need an outsiders perspective to help us each other. Jennifer encourages families to bring all family members to therapy sessions. It is helpful to meet all members and hear each person's input on what the problem(s) may be from their individual perspective. Even young children have thoughts on how the family can be better. Jennifer is open to seeing family members on an individual basis in order to facilitate the freedom to speak honestly about how they are feeling.

Although individual counseling is important in your healing process, adding family counseling in addition with individual sessions helps to provide a holistic approach to your therapy. Family counseling can range from support from one's family in an individuals healing or working together as a family to strengthen the bond of the family system. It is important each member feels worthy within the family and has a voice. Family counseling can help you and your family interact and communicate more effectively.

Everyone has a role in a family - whether it was a chosen role or assigned to you by your parents. Discovering your role, and whether you want to continue in the role is truly up to you.
