It treats each person with respect and freedom of choice. The counselor addresses not only the individual’s thoughts and feelings, but also their spirit. By addressing not only the emotional and psychological aspects of the person, but also incorporating the spiritual component can, not only lead to healing, but to wholeness as well, with the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

I believe that all truth (even psychological truths if they align with Biblical truth) is God's truth and specifically that the Bible is God's guide for Christian living and for a personal relationship to Him. Specifically the deepest healing takes place in our hearts when we know that we know we are His unconditionally beloved child. Knowing our value, our identity in Christ, provides a foundation for life from the heart that no counseling theory could ever impart. I can assist Christian clients who want help to develop a heart knowledge of Father God and to integrate a practical theology into their counseling goals.

For many Christians it is important that a counselor share the same values that they do. I take into consideration my Christian values in all areas of counseling while working with other Christians. It is important to remember that our Heavenly Father loves us unconditionally and that never changes. He loves us with all of our flaws and that love does not have to be earned. If we had no flaws we would not need Christ.

Our goal is that each client would have their unique needs met to achieve their personal goals. To that end, we offer faith-based or Christian counseling for those clients who desire it. We look to the client to let us know if they want to incorporate their faith into sessions, and to what extent. We do not assume that every client wants to address spirituality in his or her sessions, and during the first session we work with the client to create a plan to best meet his or her specific needs. I am a Christian first and foremost in life. God is my most important priority. Did you know that Jesus is listed as a counselor in the Bible? God called me to this field so He loves the helping professions. Now He is the greatest Helper of all. I certainly know that most people do not come to me for Christian counseling but when people are of the same faith, I think they feel a certain level of comfort with someone who shares their faith. I am in business and I do not share anything about God with someone that does not want to hear about faith. It is my prayer that God's wisdom and love is manifested in each session even if Christian counseling never comes up.
