My background and training includes Biblical training through Grace Ministries as well as being Board Certified as a Professional Christian Counselor. Because of my own personal losses and past hurtful experiences, I experienced shame and guilt and doubted my own worth and value. God led me through my own experience of brokenness and surrender in order to find healing and freedom in who I am in Jesus Christ. As a result, my passion is to help others find their identity in Him and the freedom that comes from living out of God's grace.

I use the Bible to enhance my therapy practice for Christians where appropriate. I have found using the scriptures useful for individuals suffering from low self worth, depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues. I don't attempt to convert or push my beliefs on people, but people of faith can find comfort and peace from knowing who they are in Christ. For people of faith that request Christian Counseling I give homework that includes reading and responding to what the Bible says about their particular struggle.

GraceRenewal Counseling provides faith-based counseling from a conservative, non-charismatic theological perspective - for Divorce Intervention, Marriage Counseling, Parenting Support, and Faith Renewal - that identifies the Pain, traces it to the Problem (unmet needs), and researches to discover God's Provisions and Plan for meeting those needs leading to increased health and happiness.

I am a member in good standing of the American Association of Christian Counselors and a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor. Clients seeking Christian Counseling receive assessment and treatment on bio-psycho-social-spiritual realms. Problems are framed and explained in a Biblical context and spiritual disciplines are taught and practiced to help clients draw near to God, get involved in a healthy fellowship of believers, and learn to discern meaning and purpose through their trials.

For those who wish to have a Christian approach to their therapy, I see faith as a strength in the process of healing. Everyone is on a different journey with with their faith. This is a place where you can bring your spiritual doubts, any harm done by your spiritual community, and a place where you are encouraged to grow in how you relate with God. Your relationship with God impacts how you connect with yourself and others. We can incorporate biblical principles, verses, and prayer as part of the process and they contribute to well-being. The greatest change seems to come from looking at how we relate with God in the midst of our struggles.
