My approach to anger management will assist you with identifying the roots of your feelings, so that we can collaboratively develop practical strategies that will enable you to control and potentially move beyond these negative emotions and behaviors.

You don’t have to feel angry all the time. Sometimes anger is obvious, and causes emotional, family and legal issues. Sometimes anger is less obvious, resulting in self-destructive or passive-aggressive behaviors. While you are learning about the source of your anger and in order to heat you must develop techniques to keep the anger from boiling over into rage. Talking and exploring ways to redirect potentially destructive behaviors and thoughts relieves the anger and promotes healing and healthy emotions

The Mars & Venus Counseling Center offers help with moderate anger issues and those affected by these issues. Anger is a natural human emotion. It is a healthy response to disappointment, attack, or loss. Explosive anger, though, can create serious psychological and physical problems. By reducing and controlling anger, an individual can reduce their stress and the stress of others being affected by the anger. Anger is a natural and normal use of emotion that helps you get in touch with that which you are feeling. The problem is that most people don't express their anger and let it build up. Then they express themselves through rages, screaming and just being out of control. Relationships become compromised and resentment and bitterness grows. To stop the pattern, you need to first learn to relax your mind and body. Second, you need to identify what is making you angry. Third, role play expressing your feelings in a positive manner. Fourth, learn to listen other's responses to your statements. Fifth, negotiate with calm to resolve the situation. Relax, think, before you respond.

Regulating our behavior is hard thing to do. Regulating our emotions is even harder. How has your explosive anger hurt those around you? How has it taken from your belief that things can get better? Being able to navigate and regulate your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors is critical to controlling your explosive pattern of behavior.
