I have been a Psychologist for 20 plus years. About 10 years ago, I took training in Pastoral Formation. After completing this program, I have been the chair of a Mental Health Ministry at a Catholic Church. Did you know that one of the best psychology books ever written was the Bible. In my therapy with clients who are open to their Christianity, we explore the use of their spirituality to help heal their wounds and create more fulfilled and meaningful life with " God" as the engine behind their personal power. The power of the spirit can enable tremendous personal and systemic growth and change.

Faith and spirituality can provide comfort and meaning to those guided by their beliefs. I was raised in a Christian household myself so I have an appreciation for the values instilled by religion, the importance of tradition, and the strength of community. My approach to counseling is humanistic and welcoming of all spiritualities. Though I do not incorporate any specific pastoral counsel, I encourage my spiritual clients to draw on their beliefs during the counseling process.

Yes, it is true we carry God with us, but we also need to carry a developed Self in order to have the curiosity and discipline to carry out what we believe to be God's wishes. With a stronger Self we also can differentiate our own wishes and needs. We can identify and delineate one feeling from the other. This is vital as our feelings serve as emissaries of our needs. To be a "good Christian" or a "good Jew, you must first understand what it takes to make an even better YOU. That is where I enter the picture.

There are many paths to the Truth and different faiths that guide people on that meaningful journey. I have enormous respect for seeking the truth and finding your faith to guide you. Your values, morals, and ethics are your code to happy, healthy living. Living in line with these brings joy and contentment...always. Living out of line with your values brings distress. I specialize in working with the Jewish community and welcome individuals of different faiths to reach out. My approach supports clients who are connected religiously, not religious, culturally connected, or faith oriented. Wherever you find meaningful connection in faith, I support. We will infuse this in your healing path.

Counseling is a way to look at who we are. Spirituality is a big part of the human experience. It is my belief that within each of us is a beautiful soul. Some of us allow god to be a big part of our lives, while others question the concept of souls, god and spirituality. Wherever you may stand, you may still identify with a deeper part of yourself. You may call it whatever feels right for you. I would like to help bring that energy into the room (if it feels right for you) to help you heal, from accessing a wholesome, powerful, deep source within you.
