I believe that our relationship with God is essential to our healing process and that our experiences in an imperfect world can interfere with this relationship. My counseling approach includes evidenced based treatments that are filtered through a Biblical lens and Christian world-view/values. We will look at how Bible speaks to your specific concerns and the amazing way God made you. We will use that guidance to identify strategies to help you live in alignment with His word and experience freedom from your pain. Understanding and experiencing the unique challenges faced by those in ministry, I have a passion for working with pastors, churches and those involved in Christian service.

I completed my training at Ashland Seminary and am happy to incorporate your Christian faith into the counseling process. It is not my job to judge or condemn anyone but I have found the most meaningful and transforming work happens when we incorporate our Christian faith. I will share with you my understanding of what the Bible teaches regarding any specific issues you have and how my personal faith impacts my perspective and my walk to help you ask and find answers to the meaningful questions.

Christian counseling, also known as Christian therapy or biblical counseling, combines Christian faith and principles with psychological and therapeutic techniques. It is administered by mental health professionals with training in Christian theology and the Bible's teachings. The purpose of Christian counseling is to assist individuals in addressing their emotional, psychological, and spiritual difficulties while integrating their Christian beliefs and values into the therapeutic process. Christian counseling is not a substitute for traditional mental health therapy or medical treatment.

My own beliefs are based in the God of the Bible. I am non-denominational. I believe in Christ's death and resurrection and and that as a result we have forgiveness and grace. I believe in the presence of the Holy Spirit who is the presence of God within us. The Bible and regular prayer is an important part of my life. It inspires me and leads me in the decisions that I make in life. I will never impose my individual beliefs on you. Instead I will explore your own individual spiritual beliefs and where appropriate for you include those beliefs as part of your therapy process.
