A bit about myself:

I am a lifelong resident of Kelowna, one of the greatest cities you could call home. My first career was with the Kelowna Fire Department, retiring after almost 33 years to go back to school and earn a diploma in counselling. That was followed by opening my practice in Kelowna, which grew much faster than I could have imagined.

My focus is on trauma, couples therapy and anger/stress management using mostly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). We have all experienced difficult events that impact our lives, and sometimes may struggle to regain peace and  balance in life. Reaching out for help can prove helpful for many. CBT can offer clients the opportunity to explore core things about themselves that may have been inhibiting that peace or balance of life. By shifting those core things, even a little, may help them experience their life in a new way. We may not be able to change past events, yet the impact those events have on people's lives today can be lowered.

There can be no guarantee of one's outcome in counselling or therapy. The investment of time and money in seeing the process through can potentially have a powerful impact on one's life. I am here to engage with you in that journey, walking with you to a more balanced and peaceful life.

In the last few years, training First Responders in peer-based Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), as well as giving stress and PTSD awareness presentations to members and their families has become a passion for me. I work with a number of Fire Departments in the Interior of B.C. as well as with B.C. Ambulance Service  training, helping with interventions, helping set up CISM programs and working directly with individuals.

Along with my private practice and working with First Responders, I have been facilitating a support group for people with acquired brain injuries (brain trauma from medical incidents like strokes or accidental).
