Ed is a Registered Professional Counsellor (RPCc) with an office in downtown Kelowna. He is a member of the CPCA (Canadian Professional Counsellors Association), the ATFT (Association of Thought Field Therapists), ICISF (International Critical Incident Stress Foundation) and the CCPCP (Canadian College of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists). After a long background of helping people in the emergency services, he is now committed to helping people in his private practice. Ed has a lifetime of experience to draw from, which can often lend itself to insight in many situations through his own experience.
The approach Ed uses is an integrative one, melding a number of counselling styles and tools together that best suit the client’s needs. The atmosphere is one of caring, understanding, compassion, and is confidential. Ed’s specialization is in the area of anger management, as well as stress management and trauma. Today’s world is more chaotic than ever, stressing many to the point of feeling overwhelmed, which can influence many of the struggles on the above list. He will collaborate with clients to develop goals in counselling that can start to bring balance and hope back into their lives.
He is certified in TFT (Thought Field Therapy)and trained in TIR (Traumatic Incident Reduction) which are unique methods that can offer clients who are struggling with traumatic issues hope for resolve. Thought Field Therapy has been found to be extremely effective with clients in a number of areas, including: trauma, PTSD, fears and phobias, depression, panic/anxiety, anger, and addictive urges.
There are also workshops and group sessions for anger management and stress management that are available through the year.
