I have a background in science which allows me to work successfully and enjoyably with the large science population of Houston. I went on to get a Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies which has supported a lifelong interest in spiritual life and a sensitivity to the full diversity of individuals spiritual orientation (or lack thereof). My clinical career began at Boston University School of Social Work (1982-1984). I emerged with interests in individual and family work and addictions. I have over twenty five years experience, including serving as a supervisor and educator of masters level therapists at Houston Family Services. I have been in private practice in Houston since 1993. Over the course of my training I have studied, strategic therapy, structural family therapy, narrative therapy, brief therapy, hypnotherapy, play therapy, group therapy, psycho-dynamic psychotherapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. With the studies that I have done, and having worked with a large diversity of people for over twenty five years, I bring a great richness to my work with clients offering them what I think is most useful, efficient, and effective in gaining them what they are seeking in our work together. This usually translates into a greater calm, lessened anxiety and internal turmoil, an enhanced sense of choice and satisfaction, a greater sense of liveliness, and improved intimacy with loved one's and friends.
