Michael S. Rhodes, M.S., M.Div., LMFT, is a Florida state-licensed psychotherapist serving Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade counties in South Florida. Michael offers counseling, including hypnotherapy, to help people manage life's challenges more effectively. Among my particular areas of expertise are the treatment of relationship problems, communication issues, depression, anxiety, and fears and phobias.

Counseling can be helpful with more than problem resolution. Indeed, counseling has the potential to enhance the achievement of positive goals.

If you have had counseling before with less-than-satisfactory results, maybe now is the time to try a different approach. One client, as an example, described our experience together by saying "I've seen a lot of therapists over a lot of years and this is the first time I've felt like I got something out of it!"

Michael is a highly-trained and experienced hypnotherapist. He is qualified in Florida as a "Teacher of Hypnosis" with over 200 hours of accredited post-graduate training. Hypnotherapy can be a useful complement to talk therapy. The use of hypnotherapy can help clients achieve results effectively and efficiently in many areas of their lives. Hypnotherapy has been documented to help individuals prepare for childbirth, medical procedures, and surgery.

Hypnotherapy can enhance healing post-surgery, manage fears and phobias and help change habits. However, it may not be useful for all clients, or for all psychological and/or medical problems. You may contact me specifically requesting hypnotherapy, or I may recommend hypnosis as an adjunct to our psychotherapy. The decision to use hypnosis will be made after our consultation to determine whether it would be desirable or appropriate for you.

He is respected by his peers and has served as President of the Broward Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. He is a Florida-Qualified Supervisor of MFT Registered Interns, meaning he has a practice supervising registered MFT interns seeking to be licensed that the State requires. He is also an Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), a prestigious credential for supervisors in graduate academic programs.

Michael graduated from Nova Southeastern University where he earned his Masters in marriage and family therapy (MFT). Michael is a clinical member of the AAMFT, the ACA (American Counseling Association), and the SCEH (Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis).

Seeking help is the first step towards creating and achieving a healthier, more balanced life. I provide a comfortable and confidential setting where you can express yourself freely. Please call and let's discuss how I may help you.
