As a Registered Psychotherapist and counsellor I work cooperatively with individuals, families, and children towards your goals and with respect for your specific attitudes, perspectives and life situation. My approach is strength-based to help you draw on your skills and knowledge to address the challenges you are facing, assisted by my expertise and confidence in each person’s ability to progress and heal.
I am available to support you in addressing such challenges as depression, anxiety, anger, low self esteem, relationship concerns, and grief. My particular interests include supporting those dealing with changes including postpartum issues, eating disorders, self-injury, student life, parenting and generally seeking ways to make the hard things in life easier. I
draw on a unique background of training and experience in counselling,
special education, extensive collaboration with women and families, spiritual concerns,
and support for separated, blended and military families. I am familiar with a variety of approaches to tailor counselling to your needs and approach to learning. My practice offers quick scheduling, daytime and early evening hours, extended health coverage, bus access and free parking.
I have a Masters Degree in Counselling and a Certificate in Couple & Family Therapy Studies, and am a Registered Marriage & Family Therapist. I am also an experienced workshop presenter and facilitator active with several organizations, listed in the Ottawa Bereavement Directory, and a contributor to a published child therapy book. My practice is in collaboration with a Registered Psychologist and I participate in ongoing upgrading of skills.
“I look forward to speaking with you, and invite you to both ask questions and offer your concerns and feedback before and throughout the therapy process.”
