I welcome you to consider psychotherapy with its in-depth approach to counselling. Together we build a trusted relationship that supports you in considering perspectives and changes. In therapy people often want to become more aware of their beliefs, feelings, thoughts, relationships, or choices in their lives. My integrative approach enables me to modify therapy to specific goals and needs of each person or family, and to meet new concerns. Starting with our first meeting I invite working together and with your feedback as I draw on knowledge and experience to support you using cognitive, behavioural, creative, emotion-focused, narrative, pastoral, and systems approaches. Ottawa & area.

Psychotherapy is a unique process that allows the client and therapist to develop a relationship that can help correct past trauma and neglect so that the client has all of their energy available for present moment awareness and action. This healing relationship can strengthen and improve a client's present relationships and all aspects of a client's life.

Psychotherapy is most successful when the individual enters therapy on their own and has a strong desire to change. If you don’t want to change, change will be slow in coming. Change means altering those aspects of your life that aren’t working for you any longer, or are contributing to your problems or ongoing issues. It is also best to keep an open mind while in psychotherapy, and be willing to try out new things that ordinarily you may not do. Psychotherapy is often about challenging one’s existing set of beliefs and often, one’s very self. It is most successful when a person is able and willing to try to do this in a safe and supportive environment.

Couple Counselling/Coaching and Family Mediation Specialist

11 Basin Court (In Arlington Woods), Nepean, Ontario K2H 8P2 | 613-726-3636

I use the word "Psyche" with my clients to describe how they have a perturbance in their everyday life-style which prevents them from having a normal life. Hippocrates believed (and I do too) that when someone is out of touch with the world around them then it makes sense that there would be a perturbance to symbolize to them that corrective action is necessary. In that sense the perturbance is a good thing because it delivers a message to get back in touch with the Psyche, or the whole field, that we live in. I teach my clients that self-sabotage is actually our Psyche diligently attempting to signal us to get back in touch with ourselves. In a sense accidents are not really accidents.

Counsellor and Registered Psychotherapist

99 Kakulu Rd, Kanata, Ontario K2L 3C8 | (613) 402-9002

What does Tracy do in session? In my therapeutic practice, I provide confidential sessions where I will walk you in your discovery of finding your inner resources. I believe that through exploration growth can occur. I facilitate this inner growth by using a client-centred approach to talk therapy, also known as person-centered therapy. This is a collaborative approach between the client(s) and the therapist, in which the client has an opportunity to develop their sense of self. As the client(s) have an opportunity to develop their sense of self, they often realize how their thoughts, feelings, attitudes, and behaviours can be affected and altered.

James Hillman once said, "We've had a hundred years of psychotherapy and the world is getting worse." While there are many occasions where the validation and listening endemic to psychotherapy makes sense, there are times where we over assume that "feeling better" and "changing behavior" are the same. Grey Matters International, Inc. goes after the forgotten brain laws to behavior change that therapists miss when processing hours and hours of dialogues with people. Utilizing a cutting edge technology to facilitate the emotional process of change, we can make the therapy process way more effective, faster, and with less money spent. People often come to therapy to get rid of painful and difficult feelings. Rather than getting rid of our feelings, therapy is a skilled process of helping us understand ourselves so we can use our feelings to navigate our lives. Even the very painful feelings hold vital information for us to become sure-footed in our life. Just like in martial arts, we use the momentum of the attacker and redirect it to ensure our safety ; in therapy we use the information from the painful feelings to clarify what we need to create more safety in our lives so we can thrive. It is a valuable process of allowing our feelings to work for us to create satisfying joyful lives.
