Keystone Child and Family Therapy offers a unique focus on career counseling. Counseling is provided to adolescents seeking to explore who they are as individuals, what careers might interest them, and what colleges or universities might help them pursue their interests. Counseling may also focus on the anxiety and stress in starting this journey and the worry that many adolescents have over making the "right" career choice. Counseling may also be provided to parents to help support this significant milestone that adolescents embark on.

Career counselling is usually a search for something different. A person wants to have an impact or have a purpose in this world. I have some experience helping people in providing life skills as a social worker. Thinking of a persons desire or goals helps to determine a potential career path along with fit with personality. Gaining insight and skills helps a person to move closer to a career.

It is one thing to embark on a new career path, and a whole other to find the sweet spot of purpose, contribution, vitality and practical stability that leads to a really fulfilling vocation. The latter requires the courage to allow, shape and stay with a vision and the skills to navigate the inevitable peaks and valleys in confidence that are natural to the process. It is necessary to develop the ability to structure your own time toward your goal, maintaining the stability necessary to take new opportunities and creative risks. I offer coaching for those motivated to move into this place.

I spent six years working in the area of career development and learned a great deal about what to consider when choosing a career, or making a job change. What we do for work needs to fit with who we are. Along with this I studied work stress, job burnout and organizational processes that support good health and work–life balance. As a psychologist I am able to combine the impact of work stress and personal stress to help people make choices that consider the impact of work on their health. Work that fits with who you are can result in a better quality of life and decrease the likelihood of job stress.
