Coaching sessions are specific to each individual and specific goals. It is standard for therapists to discuss the primary issues and concerns in your life during coaching sessions. It is common to schedule a series of weekly sessions, where each session lasts about fifty minutes. Coaching can be short-term, focusing on a specific issue, or can be longer-term, addressing more complex issues.

Career Counseling is about change. Whether you are changing a career position, seeking a new field, or a student changing a major, the core of career counseling is preparation and the understanding of your goals and how they affect your life as a whole. In my practice, I do not use assessments or aptitude tests, as I believe the client is the best source of information. Together we will review your education, interests, work history and the reasons to make a change at this time in your life. Additionally, we will evaluate your level of risk taking, relationships and approaches to pursue a new career path. My style is comprehensive and tailored to you to help your reach your career goals.

Most people will have very different multiple careers in their lives. This can be very confusing and frightening. We all want to make the right choices. We want to be happy in our work and make enough money to live the life style we desire. We want to make as few mistakes in our choices as possible. We will work to clear the clouds by getting closer to understanding our needs and desires. We will set action goals, identify targets, evaluate results and continue refining the process until we are satisfied with the results.

Work is an enormously important part of our lives. As is often said, we spend more hours of our lives at work than anywhere else. So making that work as good as it can be is vitally important to our health, sanity, and general well-being. Yet that, like so many things, can be easier said than done. I can help you explore your upbringing and education, your personal values, needs, and desires, along with ambitions and fears to help you find and succeed along a well-chosen professional path. Oftentimes, people seek out career counseling because they are finding that their current job is not making them happy. From a Christian perspective, finding the work or "mission" God has designed you for is often called "finding your purpose" which we believe is the key to happiness in your work. In my work with Christians I strive to help people to find this purpose in their lives.

They usually touch something more personal: what you want, what you're afraid of, and the often-unspoken expectations shaping your choices. I help you sort through career questions at that level. Together we'll look at what's really behind your dissatisfaction or indecision, including the desires and pressures you may not have fully acknowledged, so that any change you make comes from clarity rather than panic.
