I work with couples to increase responsiveness, trust, and intimacy in relationships. I help partners see how each of their behaviors impact and influence their partner's reactions and how the combination of these reactions lead to self-perpetuating cycles that continue to hurt the relationship. Together we work on skills to decrease blame and defensiveness, increase understanding and responsiveness, and create healing. Every relationship has its own nervous system; it's a living story between two people. I help couples slow down enough to notice what happens beneath the arguments, while building a toolkit of emotional awareness, communication skills, and repair work. Through emotionally focused and body-based work, we'll uncover what each partner’s nervous system is trying to protect. Mindfulness slows reactivity; curiosity invites repair. The goal isn’t perfect communication, but rather learning to cultivate an environment of emotional safety that can hold honest conflict.
