Everyone feels Grief & Loss deeply and profoundly at some time or other in life. I don't believe grief is something that needs to be "gotten over." Instead, I encourage you to learn to be curious about how profound the connection is that is causing the psychic pain. Oftentimes, lingering in that experience provides substantial understanding and relief.

Grief is inevitable and can come in many ways. It is also personal. An individual and an entire family may be grieving the same object, but each individual may experience the grief differently. Simply put, grief unique for each individual. You may have heard countless stories about individuals struggling to overcome their grief after everyone seems to have moved on and reconciled with their loss.

Grieving the loss of a person, a pet, or the end of a marriage/relationship, or any other major life circumstance that triggers the feelings of loss can, at times, feel overwhelming. Feelings of loneliness, fear, pain, yearning, anxiety, emptiness, and anger are just some emotions you may be experiencing, which are completely normal. It can affect your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Sometimes it feels like we can't talk to those closest to us about our feelings of grief because they are grieving themselves or we feel like a burden. You do not need to do it alone; I will provide a safe space for you to talk about the loss, process your feelings, and rediscover how to find joy.

Change is the one constant of life. Change involves both losses to grieve and transitions to process through. Like many professionals I am astounded that psychiatrists have added grief to their huge list of "disorders." We all grieve differently and at a different pace. Like a physical wound, grief cannot be rushed or "cured." The best we can do is to keep the emotional wound clean, dry, and freshly bandaged, then watch the passage of time work its miracle.

Losing someone or something you love is profoundly painful.
