The Emergency Care Help Organization (ECHO) assists Brandon families with clothing, food, nutrition classes, and free GED classes.⁴ The program is funded by grants such as the Darden Restaurant Community Grant and other donations.⁵ They maintain a clothing closet in Brandon, which families are encouraged to visit if they are experiencing an emergency or financial difficulties. Donated clothing is added to the closet, while donations in the form of cash are used to purchase new underwear, socks, and diapers for children in need.
