Family counseling, or family therapy, aims to address psychological, behavioral, and emotional issues that cause family problems. Family members will work with a therapist or counselor to develop and maintain a healthy family dynamic. We will develop a treatment plan specific for your family, helping everyone to feel emotionally safe, while boundaries are respected, and that everyone understands their role in the family unit.

There are many issues that can arise in a family setting that can affect the family dynamic and cause emotional issues for different members of the family. Children are at the highest risk to be affected by these family issues. One of the main problems that arises are attachment issues, either becoming too dependent on a parent, or not forming enough of an attachment with a parent. After a divorce you may decide to remarry. This is another major change for both you and your children. A therapist can be very effective at finding out what is troubling your child and help them deal with their emotions.

Parenting is a challenging and rewarding role. Unfortunately no one teaches us how to parent. Most people tend to do what their parents did or in some cases the exact opposite.
