Family counseling, or family therapy, aims to address psychological, behavioral, and emotional issues that cause family problems. Family members will work with a therapist or counselor to develop and maintain a healthy family dynamic. We will develop a treatment plan specific for your family, helping everyone to feel emotionally safe, while boundaries are respected, and that everyone understands their role in the family unit.

We work to nurture change and development of effective interaction between family members, as family relationships are a significant factor in psychological health. Our therapists believe that, regardless of the origin of the problem, and regardless of whether the clients consider it an "individual" or "family" issue, involving families in solutions is often beneficial through direct participation in the therapy session. The family may be immediately related, or may include strongly supportive, long-term relationships between people who may or may not be related by blood or marriage.

When that doesn't work they can be at a loss. If you are struggling with parenting I can help. My approach in Family Therapy focuses on helping the parent(s) learn new parenting techniques by understanding their child's developmental stage and needs, setting and following through with limit setting and strengthening the connection with the child.
