Over the years I've developed curriculum and taught classes as well as led groups on anger management. Most of the time our thoughts are what drives are anger to become out of control. It's my job to help you analyze your thoughts and give you the necessary tools to deal with your anger in a productive way and keep it from impacting your relationships, workplace performance, etc.

Anger is often correlated with severe mood swings and/or explosive behaviors. Excessive anger is often associated with bipolar disorder. The symptoms of dysfunctional expression of anger may be verbal or physical. As an individual can identify the physiological signs when his/her anger is increasing; for example change in breathing, muscle tightness, loudness or intensity of voice we can change that build up of underlying emotion through mindfulness, heart math breathing, taking a time out, giving space, and a number of other techniques. Over time individuals learn to recognize and effectively manage their responses to anger.

The purpose of anger management is to help a person decrease the heightened emotional and physiological arousal often associated with anger. It is generally impossible to avoid all the people, things, and settings that incite anger , but a person may learn how to control reactions and respond in a socially appropriate manner. The support of a mental health professional may be helpful in this process. Anger management therapy may help not only those individuals experiencing anger issues, but also the people who make up their social network. The goal of anger management therapy is to teach people how to accurately examine their triggers, adjust their perception of situations, and develop.
