One of our lovely psychotherapists, Anna, is passionate about supporting children, youth, and young adults, as well as their parents. As a psychotherapist and a teacher, she is interested in supporting children and adolescents with challenges related to school, including academic success, special education needs, bullying, self-esteem and peer relationships. She draws on various interventions, theories, experiences and techniques to support our young clients well, including art therapy, movement based psychotherapy and dialectical behavioural therapy.

In supporting children and youth through therapy, Nicole offers a unique approach to each child. Nicole is a Registered Social worker and a trained kids yoga instructor. Combining these specialties offers a unique opportunity to help children explore and understand their experience, feelings and emotions. Therapy with young children can be very critical to your child’s future development and emotional health. I provide some structure geared toward the issue at hand but the child also has a chance to explore their feelings in creative ways. Situations many young children come to therapy for include difficulty regulating emotions, parental separation or divorce, grief, withdrawal, trauma, amongst others. No matter what your child is going through, therapy can get them over the hurdle by allowing them to speak out in different ways and discovering coping strategies to get them through.

I work virtually and in-person with children and adolescents. Parents have told me that their children are more emotionally regulated and, overall, happier, as a result of therapy. The initial session is free so there is little risk in reaching out to schedule a session to determine if I am a good fit for your child. I offer in-person therapy in Orangeville (Mondays) and Inglewood (Fridays and Sundays). I offer virtual appointments on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings as well as Sunday mornings and afternoons.

Although I don't work directly with children, I do parent/parenting coaching, which I believe is the foundation in helping our kids grow well and healthy, with good self- esteem and confidence to handle this life. Children learn. They are watching and listening, even when we don't think they are. Ultimately, they will be mad at themselves before they'll be mad at you.
