While not a speciality of the Center for Healthier Relationships, Individuals, & Sexualities, career counseling can be part of a larger framework of therapy. This can include exploring why one might want to change career paths, work up a corporate latter, or even why one might focus on contentment in their current role. This can be approached through a variety of modalities, which may either focus on the present issues or may review historical data to determine why one feels the need to make a career change.

Adolescents is a time to set goals for the future. As a middle and high school counselor, I have taught college and career lessons, led parent informational nights, facilitated family meetings, and provided one-on-one counseling. As your teen's therapist, I will help them to identify their strengths, skills, and interests. From there, we will explore careers and possible majors or paths to that career. Once that is known, we will research the programs or colleges that will get your teen where they want to be. The process can be stressful, but also exciting! I will be there every step of the way. Together, we can help your teen achieve their post-secondary goals!

Making career choices and changes can often be confusing and overwhelming. I help you develop your own guideline for how to make decisions regarding your career and life path. We explore questions about who you want to be in the world, where you wan tto go, and how your work fits or does not fit into that framework, and what your life's passions are now and have been.

I work with many high school and college students to help develop and refine their academic and career goals and achieve them. For those in the corporate world, I assist with stress management and the setting and attainment of short and long term goals. I work with teachers and school administrators on managing the very stressful demands of their work environment while looking ahead to career choices as their jobs and responsibilities evolve in their rapidly changing work milieu . I also work with individuals with developmental disabilies to help them develop confidence and define options in the workplace uniquely suited to their abilities. While most career counselors love to give you capacity based profiles of what your talents and interests are for your best bet career choices, Grey Matters international believes that most people make predictably irrational decisions and then after making them learn way to make them fit into their identities using various types of rationalizations and strategies.
