Depression is the unhealthy cousin of sadness. You can be okay when you're sad; when you're depressed, you're not okay. When I work with people experiencing depression, sometimes I help them to move themselves from sadness to depression. Sometimes it isn't realistic to think that you'll be happy; it is realistic to think that you can be okay.
