Every family has spoken and unspoken rules and roles to to which each member is expected to adhere. Some of these rules and roles may be effective and some may be dysfunctional. Outside influence may also play a role in determining the health of the family and how the family will interact. Maureen works with families to mediate conflict, provide parenting support, heal relationships and supply family members with new skills and practices. Maureen's approach will will utilize different therapies to build and foster a respectful, vibrant family that will strengthen and improve the relationships to create a healthy family dynamic.

Most family therapists inadvertently create more chaos through their well-intentioned efforts to assist a family move through a change process. Why? We are meant to live in community, and we long to be connected in healthy ways with those that we love. Family is intended to be a secure source of this connection, but past pain and trauma sometimes comes in between a family's ability to provide this safe space. Family therapy allows a therapist to engage with multiple members to understand the aspects contributing to the breakdown in communication, loss of trust and ultimately the loss of connection and security.
