My psychotherapy approach is dedicated to supporting individuals navigating a spectrum of mental health conditions and emotional challenges. I work with an entire person--the mind, emotions, body, spirit, relationships. I offer an alternative approach to traditional psychotherapy because sometimes we are stuck beyond our thoughts. I believe we are often stuck beyond how we think about something, but by how our body holds and remembers the experiences. After all, we feel the anxiety in our chest, shoulders or stomach. When we are depressed, we struggle to move, sleep, concentrate etc. I work to remove the block from wherever it is stuck. My clients come to me after years of ineffective therapy. They are looking for more than talking about their struggles or identifying how they think about them in favor of a change in living.

Many clients I see are working through issues related to family of origin. Once these issues are identified we begin to understand the underlying cause of our behaviors. The pain of childhood wounds, traumas, and old patterns and beliefs can negatively affect all aspects of life. I believe everyone has an inner knowing and the ability to heal. I will assist you to understand the dynamics of your family of origin so you can move forward in your life with courage.

Individual counseling may be oriented towards helping clients achieve their goals for their own personal development. People can grow, develop, and have positive change happen in their core beliefs, well into later stages of life. Younger or even mid-life clients may present with problems regarding sexuality or being at peace with their single sexuality. The Master Designer created us as sexual beings and much of my practice is aimed at helping clients overcome sexual anorexia or the other end of that continuum, sexual addiction and/or pornography addiction (with the added markers of distress being present.) Sex Therapy from a Christian perspective is a large part of my practice.
