I would be honored to help you overcome your depression by helping you to figure out and face the issues that are keeping you down. I will ask you leading questions to help you become more aware of yourself and any unhelpful coping strategies you may have learned. Then we will work on changing the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are holding you back. You will learn new strategies to overcome any obstacles you may face now and in the future.

Exploring and identifying triggers as well as contributing factors tat are fueling clients symptoms of depression is the main focus when beginning to work together. After awareness is developed client will have a better understanding of where adjustments can be made. Adjustments may include; creating a healthier self care routine, creating a healthier work/life balance, engaging in as well as exploring new hobbies, engaging in healthy social interactions, etc.

Sadness and depression can really make you feel like you can't move forward with your life. Although some sadness is normal, however if you cannot get out of bed for days, not eating, not sleeping or too much sleep, and having suicidal thoughts, it may be best to get individual therapy. Therapy can help motivate you to build the life you want and get to what is keeping you from being productive.

There are several factors that contribute to childhood and teen depression such as problems in school, grief and loss, illness, bullying and problems with parents. In order to address the child’s needs, I will meet with your family in order to assess and understand the nature of the depression. As adolescents share their feelings about what they are experiencing in their lives, I will work with your child to reduce the symptoms of depression and strive to improve, self-esteem, social skills and help them to develop emotional problem solving skills.
