The Dallas Senior Services Program serves as an outreach and advocacy liaison to the City of Dallas, and provides input on issues important to seniors. The agency works to provide resources and referral services to seniors that involve issues regarding maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The agency offers to build wheelchair ramps at the homes of elderly city residents to provide easier access as they age. Furthermore, the agency acts on behalf of the elderly to ensure abuse, neglect, and exploitation do not occur. Family Services and Assistance Programs
The Family Services program offered by the Catholic Charities of Dallas provides comprehensive support services for underserved populations. Working specifically with the poor, the elderly, and immigrants, the program offers assistance with paying rent and utilities, provides school supplies for children, and distributes heaters, fans, and air conditioners to make living conditions more comfortable. Additionally, the program includes a food pantry where families who do not have enough money to purchase food can receive the ingredients needed to make nutritious meals.
