Hi, it's nice to virtually meet you! I'm Kristie Brassard (she/her), the Clinical Director at Kristie Brassard & Associates. I'm a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist & Guide with over 17+ years of experience in the field. Working from a client-centered, trauma informed, and anti-oppressive lens, I greet my clients with authenticity, compassion, and from time-to-time a little humour. 😋

I often works with individuals and couples who are overwhelmed with emotions, struggling to manage stress in life, and with folks who are feeling disconnected or unsatisfied with various aspects of their lives. I also love guiding my clients through exploring and navigating shifts in sexuality, gender and relationship structures. Helping clients heal from past hurts, and supporting folks wanting to engage in general personal growth fills me up.  🥰

I also love to share my experiences and knowledge with others. I provide clinical supervision and business consultation to professionals who are licensed to practice the act of psychotherapy and who are looking for guidance and support in the field.

I draw on various interventions, theories, experiences and intuition to support my clients well. 💫

There are 4 other lovely clinicians that work at Kristie Brassard & Associates, hand picked by me! 👇🏽

Anna Riddell (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist & Guide, with a Master of Social Work from York University. She works from an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed and strengths-based perspective. She uses a variety of therapeutic interventions, with a focus on Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Art Therapy. She also brings a rich diversity of experiences from social work practice, community arts and teaching to her work. She is a certified yoga teacher and enjoys using mindfulness techniques in therapeutic practice, as well. 🧘🏼

Anna believes in developing a strong therapeutic relationship as the foundation for supporting healing and growth. She works with individuals and couples experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, low self-esteem, anger, and communication challenges. She is particularly interested in experiences of parenting, blended families, and grief and loss.

As a psychotherapist and a teacher, she is also interested in supporting children and adolescents with challenges related to school, including academic success, special education needs, bullying, self-esteem and peer relationships. 👩🏼‍🏫

Anna is currently accepting clients with daytime and evening availability. If you don't see a time in the online booking portal that works for you, contact her directly and she'll find a spot that works!

Cher Canonizado (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist & Guide with 13+ years of experience in the field. Much of Cher’s work has included supporting individuals, and their family members, as they navigate the transitional ages and stages of the teen years and young adulthood. She also has a wealth of knowledge and experience in supporting folks struggling with addiction, self-harm, depression, anxiety, stress, anger, low self-esteem, and those coping with all kinds of abuse (childhood trauma, domestic and narcissistic abuse). She can help individuals, families, and couples navigate their relationships by working on improving communication and setting healthy boundaries.

Cher believes that the foundation to any strong therapeutic relationship is good rapport and helping those she serves to feel a genuine sense of care and compassion. As such, Cher brings a very flexible, client-centred, and client-led approach to her practice. 💖

Cher offers support to clients as they consider, discover and develop their version of a happy and healthy life. This may include helping people gain new perspectives and strategies for addressing struggles with interpersonal relationships, facing difficult emotions, healing past wounds, and exploring and understanding one’s self in new ways.

She draws on a variety of interventions, theories and both lived and professional experiences to support clients well. This may include but is not limited to: interpersonal therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and mindfulness-focused therapy. Every approach is always trauma informed and from a strength-based lens. 💫

Daniel Lee (he/him) is a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist & Guide with a Master of Social Work from the University of Windsor currently based out of Toronto, and serving clients virtually all over Ontario. 👨🏽‍💻

Daniel is a queer therapist who has many years of experience working in the social service field.
He is passionate about helping queer and BIPOC individuals (14+), as well as allies, explore therapy, discuss their mental health, and find self-actualization in environments that did not always allow this to happen.

Daniel has experience in supporting individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, high stress situations, and low self-esteem. He is also a trained career counsellor, and is highly experienced in working with marginalized youth.

Daniel is also uniquely positioned to help individuals who are navigating a faith deconstruction, and can help individuals exploring faith-based trauma, difficult life situations, a sense of hopelessness, and disconnection from family, among other common experiences that come with this process.

Daniel draws on a variety of different modalities including Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Narrative Therapy and operates out of a client-centred, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and strengths-based lens.

Alexander Orr (he/they) is a Registered Social Worker and a student through the Master of Social Work for Working Professionals program at the University of Windsor.

Alexander works from a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive and systematic lens. He has a wealth of knowledge through lived experience, research, and in the field of social services. He greets his clients with kindness and compassion and sometimes includes a dad joke or two to break the ice. 😋

As a queer and trans person, Alexander offers a unique perspective and is passionate about helping clients through their journey of self-acceptance (whether this be with gender, sexuality, or other aspects of their identity). Alexander can support individual teens and adults who may have challenges with gender dysphoria, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, stress, strong emotions, self-harm, or eating disorders. He also supports vulnerable youth with developing emotional regulation techniques and necessary life skills as they transition into adulthood.

Alexander draws on different modalities and interventions. Most importantly, he is big on affirmations and empowerment techniques. This empowers people to make decisions and take control of their lives.

In his capacity as a student, he hopes to be able to help clients using skills and knowledge he's already acquired through his experiences in the social services field, as well as gain further knowledge in regards to new therapeutic methods and interventions that will contribute to his work as a therapist. He will be directly supervised by Kristie Brassard, MSW, RSW.
