Elizabeth is a Florida, Indiana, Idaho, New York, and Utah Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Florida Certified Addictions Professional, Internationally Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor, EMDR Certified Therapist, and Certified First Responder Counselor. She graduated from Florida Atlantic University with her Master's Degree in Social Work after getting her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and having a successful career as a Textile Designer. Deeply committed to her clients, Elizabeth’s passion for helping others was born out of an incredible peace and satisfaction that arose from her own journey of growth and self-discovery.
Elizabeth founded PBC Therapy to help individuals, couples, and families experience greater well-being of body, mind, and spirit and find their own peace and satisfaction in life. A typical session with Elizabeth can include both traditional talk therapy and creative and experiential therapies, including EMDR, art therapy, and breathwork. These techniques can be especially effective in treating trauma and related conditions. She is holistically oriented and her clients are regarded in their environment, from a client-centered perspective.
EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy is, as stated by EMDRIA, the EMDR International Association, "an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches. To date, EMDR therapy has helped millions of people of all ages relieve many types of psychological stress." As a Certified Addictions Professional and an Internationally Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor, Elizabeth is specifically qualified for addiction treatment and assessments. Drug and alcohol assessments are often required in a variety of situations. Elizabeth is trained and certified in the SASSI, the Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory, a short screening questionnaire that is highly regarded by most courts and authorities. This and a thorough interview and assessment process are utilized to comprise a complete report if required by a client for legal or other purposes.
Elizabeth is also trained in EAGALA equine therapy and uses her love and expertise with horses to help children and adults accomplish life-changing transformations through Equine Assisted Therapy.
