My counseling style is based upon compassion tempered with directness. I emphasize the importance of developing insights and understanding of your symptoms and how your mind and body processes trauma. This understanding allows us to work together to develop strategies and coping skills.  Together we learn what your triggers are and which ones will make your symptoms worse. With this awareness and understanding of why things bother you, I will use various techniques and different types of therapy so you can learn to look at things in a different way and learn new ways to react stressful situations.
Types of different Techniques and Therapies I use
  •  CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) Is a form of therapy that helps individuals become aware of their negative thinking which can lead to negative and destructive behaviors

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing)  is a type of therapy that allows individuals to heal from  the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.
  • DBT(Dialectical Behavior Therapy)  is an effective combination of cognitive and behavioral therapy.  It helps transform negative thinking patterns into positive outcomes. It is about accepting and modulating mood swings.
  • Mindfulness teaches us to pay attention to our thoughts and feelings without judging them. Mindfulness will help you to learn to become comfortable with uncomfortable feelings.
  • Psycho Education providing information and understanding of the challenges individuals are facing as well as knowledge of personal coping ability.
