WHAT MAKES WORKING WITH ME DIFFERENT
I don’t waste your time or your money. Once you book your first session, I email you my history questionnaire and ask you to return it completed beforehand. That way I’m ready to begin helping you the moment we start, rather than spending our first hour together simply collecting background, as most therapists do. I cut to the chase so we can spend our time on what actually brings you here, and you get the full benefit of my experience from the very first session.

I am competent in many forms of psychotherapy and tailor my approach to your needs. My core approaches include the following.

• Humanistic and existential therapy
ABOUT ME
I have been a licensed psychologist since 1986. Despite my accomplishments, I am unpretentious, present, and humble, a respectful therapist who is deeply concerned about what matters most to you right now.
I am also the author of 14 books, including an award-winning university textbook on addictions counselling. Its updated second edition, Counseling Clients with Substance Use Disorders and/or Problematic Behaviors, is published by Cognella. I have written two other textbooks as well.
COST
Between $250 and $270 per 50-minute session.
LOCATION
I live in Calgary and offer in-person sessions here. I also see clients by high-quality video across Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick, the provinces where I am licensed to practice. Most people find video sessions just as helpful as meeting in person.
