Licensed to operate 130 beds, adults and seniors of advanced age can come to Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry to receive high quality and progressive treatment to heal from mental health, addiction, and dual diagnosis concerns. With separate and distinct inpatient units available for adults and older men and women, Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry provides short-term stabilizing care for those who need immediate treatment to overcome a variety of issues. Depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, post traumatic stress disorder, aggression, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, psychosis, self-harm, and suicidal ideation are among the various concerns that can be treated at this level of care, and each person benefits from personalized treatment planning that is customized to address and treat his or her specific needs. Additionally, adults who are also struggling with substance abuse at the same time as mental illness can partake in this hospital's dual diagnosis inpatient program so that they can heal and recover in a truly transformative way.
Men and women who come to this hospital also have the option to participate in a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and/or an intensive outpatient program (IOP) as a means of making great stridesin healing from their presenting issues. These levels of care can mark the start of a person's time at Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry, or they can serve as the next steps an individual takes to solidify the confidence and skills they have developed and learned to become well again. PHP is more intensive than IOP, though both programs feature many of the same interventions used in the inpatient level of care.Lastly, staff who are fully committed to helping eachperson reach their treatment goals provide the ongoing support that is needed to successfully complete these treatment options.
Finally, Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry is pleased to offer Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment to those in the Columbus area. Also referred to as CPST, this program provides in-home services and links men and women in the community with invaluable mental health and medical resources that can improve their overall quality of life. By offering this form of care, those who are not able to come to this hospital for treatment can still access the treatment they need to experience alleviation from mental illnesses and other such concerns that can hinder functioning and independent living.
