About Me:

I am a licensed psychologist and founder of Coronado Psych. I opened my practice with the mission to offer clients in my community high quality, evidence-based psychological services provided by highly trained, doctoral-level mental health professionals. Having dedicated the majority of the last decade developing and providing evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and accessible psychological services to clients with a wide range of concerns; and I am excited to continue to share my knowledge and skills with my clients here in Coronado and the greater San Diego area.

My Specialties and Services:

At Coronado Psych, I offer three main services: Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, and Telehealth/Online Therapy.

As a Clinical Psychologist, I provide individual therapy to adults with a variety of psychological symptoms and presentations, including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and bereavement, stress related to work, school, daily life, or difficult family and social dynamics. A course of treatment with me begins with a comprehensive psychological assessment, followed by an evidence-based treatment plan tailored to each client’s needs. I have extensive training in several different therapy modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, schema therapy, and interpersonal techniques and work collaboratively with each client to develop treatment plans that best fit each client’s needs and goals for psychotherapy.

As a Health Psychologist, I offer evidence-based psychotherapy and supportive counseling services to patients and their caregivers who are coping with a wide variety of serious and/or chronic health conditions, including insomnia. I understand that physical discomforts of medical conditions are just one aspect of the patient experience. As a health psychologist, I am dedicated to ensuring patients and their caregivers get the adequate emotional support they need as they navigate the often complex and uncertain path of managing serious and/or chronic health conditions. Within this service, the initial assessment is focused on the client’s adjustment to the various stages of chronic and serious illness. I then work collaboratively with the client to tailor established interventions to best fit each patient’s needs and goals. Health psychology treatment plans vary greatly, and can include managing emotional distress associated with medical diagnosis and treatment, supporting behavioral changes, integrating your health status with your overall sense of self, managing difficult conversations with healthcare providers, preventing caregiver burnout, and so much more.

In order to increase accessibility to care, I also offer my therapy services through telephone and secure, encrypted video-conference psychotherapy sessions. I have had extensive training in providing remote psychology services and am passionate about providing services in a way that allows California residents to easily access our care without having to travel to Coronado Island. When appropriate, telepsychology can be just as effective as in-person therapy and can increase adherence to treatment plans by removing barriers that can often interrupt treatment. It is important to note that telepsychology may not be appropriate for everyone. That is why I ask that all individuals interested in this service discuss the potential benefits and risks of using telehealth with me so that I can work with them to collaboratively assess the appropriateness of this service to address each client’s needs and goals.

 My Availability:

I now have openings to provide therapy to new clients via telehealth.

I am available to work with young adults (18+), adults, and seniors (65+) struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, stress, life transitions, health behavior changes, health-related psychological distress, and more; and I am  happy to answer any further questions you may have about my services.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information about my services, as I am happy to answer any questions you may have and to help you find the right therapist for you!
