About Me:

Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to get into a career path that would make a difference in people’s lives. This interest led me to study psychological science and eventually a full-time job as a licensed Mental Health Service Provider in the greater Dallas/Fort Worth and Phoenix/Gilbert area, I am committed to the well-being of all my clients and go above and beyond to cater to their needs.I truly care for all my clients and work diligently to help find them the answers they seek. Since 2008, I have worked with a variety of patients dealing with circumstances that are unique to their lives.
Talk Therapy:
In talk therapy, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is a short-term therapy that involves the client set goals and working towards achieving them. It is a therapeutic technique that focuses on how a person’s thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes affect their feelings and behaviors. I get to know my clients and assist them in talking through their life difficulties while helping them become more aware of specific thought patterns that may be contributing to their symptoms. The client and I work together to understand what specific thoughts and/or behaviors need to be changed, and they collaborate to develop strategies for attaining these changes. I work with clients to introduce CBT skills that can be applied outside of the counseling setting to set clients up with better coping strategies for the future as well.
EMDR:
EMDR is a therapeutic technique that helps clients heal from symptoms and distress that are the result of traumatic experiences. EMDR therapy is used with other modalities (such as CBT) to help clients get effective, efficient, and long-lasting results in healing from trauma, or changing their habits and negative beliefs. EMDR, unlike other treatments, focuses directly on memories and is intended to change the way that memories are stored in the brain, thus reducing problematic symptoms. The therapy uses a structured eight-phase approach. During the client’s first therapy session, I will review the eight phases and discuss the therapeutic process in more detail. I will also get to know the client and their needs during this session. I will work with the client to identify a specific problem as the focus of the treatment session and will then appropriately work through the eight-phase approach with the client.
Couples Therapy:
I have a passion for helping couples learn to communicate more effectively with one another. I strive to assist couples in achieving a deeper sense of understanding, awareness, empathy, and connectedness within their relationships that leads to heightened intimacy and interpersonal growth. I approach couples counseling from a Gottman Method perspective. This means I aid the couple in addressing attachment concerns, reducing attachment insecurities, and fostering the creation of a secure bond. I am committed to teaching couples how to implementstrategies that help couples navigate through stress and build resiliency.
Take Away:
I have helped individuals work through concerns such as trauma, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, body image issues, personality disorders, performance anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and couples counseling.
