Sometimes we find it hard to meet our own expectations or we are disappointed by our loved ones. Life is unfortunately filled with disappointments, either by others or those that are self inflicted. Learning how to not allow those disappointments to define one's self-worth is an important part of therapy. It is easy to avoid our problems, work, social engagements. Depression hampers our motivation and reduces our desire to socialize. When alone with negative thoughts, depression gets fueled. Therapy is hard work but can give you the tools to fight those negative thoughts that weigh you down.
