During our time together we will spend intimate time identifying what depression looks like in your life and what supports need to be put into place to help you achieve a desired level of functioning. Tools and skills will be developed to help assist during difficult times that are occurring outside of the therapeutic setting and to help promote independence and self efficacy when encountering symptoms.

Clients struggling from feeling emotionally hurt, isolated, selfish, helpless, or hopeless can gain insight into symptoms and treatment of depression. Clients can learn emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal relationship skills and heal from past painful experiences that may influence current thoughts and belief systems in an unhealthy way.

We use a safe and collaborative approach to helping you explore the roots of your sadness while learning evidence-based interventions to alleviate feelings of sadness, loneliness and being overwhelmed.

Depression is often controlled by our unconscious feelings, thoughts, memories, and dreams. Drawing on Positive Psychology and other therapeutic models, I help clients to understand how we relive early experiences unconsciously, and I coach them on behavioral techniques they can use to overcome the vicious cycle of negativity and change their present. These include a blend of empirically based techniques clients can use at work or at home to overcome depression, end self-sabotage, and get unstuck.

Depression can present itself in many ways, together we identify symptoms that are specific to you, identify and explore what factors are contributing to the symptoms, we talk about how you can begin to improve these symptoms so that you can be on your way to a happier healthier life. For some talk therapy is enough and for others they may need linkage to other specialists.
