Mental Health in Grimsby
The Grimsby Town is a beautiful place amidst the lake Ontario and the Majestic Niagara Escarpment.2 The town had a total population of 25,325 according to the 2011 census and it is rapidly growing.3 Mental health is becoming a major concern for residents in Grimsby since it currently lacks the attention that it needs. One part of Grimsby has seen around 16 suicides in a short time period. People with mental illnesses suffer from suicidal thoughts, Addiction, Eating Disorders, Anxiety, Bi-polar Disorder and much more.
For all those patients suffering from mental illnesses, the West Niagara Mental Health Program can cater to their needs. The service is a mental health program in the community for the residents of the community. They offer quality treatment through detailed analysis and intervention. Current Initiatives
The Ontario Peer Development is a special organization of multiple organizations. The members include mental health survivor/ consumer initiatives along with peer support organizations. The organizations are especially dedicated towards helping people that have had a mental health problem or addiction issue by people who have also lived through the experience.
