"My approach to therapy is much like a tutor at school, helping the client explore new possibilities, and when necessary, get "unstuck". Many possibilities can be found in daily living. In my book "Dog Walking- Reflections Through the Seasons" explores nurturing ideas."

You are making an important decision when choosing a therapist. Asking "good" questions of the potential counselor helps insure a "good fit". There is no adequate substitute for one on one contact in making the best choice. However, a telephone call or e-mail can begin the process. Below I will try to give you a brief overview of my professional background and myself in order for you to make an initial assessment.

First, a little of my training. I am a Florida licensed psychotherapist and have been in full time private practice for over twenty five years in northeast Ft. Lauderdale.  received my Bachelor of Science from the University of Cincinnati and graduate degree from St. Thomas University in Miami. In addition, I have over three hundred hours of continuing education in the field of psychotherapy. I hold national certifications in psychotherapy, grief work, and trauma.

Next, my philosophy in therapy is fairly straight forward. It is my goal to provide a safe and non judgmental environment that nurtures healing and growth. Healthy, sustainable change requires a well grounded value system. In life, as well as therapy, I incorporate Judeo/Christian traditions.

Finally, on the personal side, "off duty time" is divided between playing golf, which too often resembles long nature walks in the nearby woods, caring for my two rescued Shetland Sheepdogs (Shelties), and cooking with the hope of being able to eat the final result as well! I have been in south Florida since moving from the Midwest in the early 70's.

There is an old saying, "Life is short....but is also wide!" Let's is explore the "width" of your possibilities. I would appreciate the opportunity to be of assistance to you.
