While we are all looking for happiness, stress and anxiety often dominates our fast-paced lives as we search for external solutions. Learning to change patterns by using the tools I teach, you will begin the path to freedom by breaking the patterns of self-limiting beliefs. Together we incorporate an array of techniques designed to bring you back to yourself as you learn to embrace your full potential. We create a "tool box" that is designed to teach you skills as you learn to problem solve.

My Approach
My holistic, integrative approach includes a variety of practices such as mindfulness and  hypnosis, life coaching and traditional methods including cognitive behavioral and solution based techniques. Incorporating the mind-body connection is key to optimal health. Thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and attitudes can positively (or negatively) affect our biological functioning. Our minds can affect how healthy our bodies are!  While this is great news, change isn't necessarily easy; but with our work together you will find yourself on the path to freedom and empowerment.
I am an ASCH (American Society of Clinical Hypnosis) certified, clinical hypnotherapist. I use hypnosis, guided imagery and mindfulness when appropriate. Hypnosis can help with general relaxation, stress reduction and for more specific issues.  I teach you self-hypnosis which is an empowering tool that you can use in your life on a daily basis to find more joy, peace and overall sense of well-being.  The clients I see for hypnosis only generally come in for about 5 sessions on the average.  Hypnosis can also used as an effective modality combined with traditional psychotherapy.  Hypnosis can be used for relaxation and stress reduction or for more specific issues such as weight loss, test taking,  public speaking, improvement in sports, sleep problems, phobias, for example, fear of flying.  Hypnosis works well with medical procedures to ease fear, lessen pain, reduce anxiety and to speed recovery time.  Personalized recordings are made at each session.
In my work I also integrate somatic work in working with trauma which stems from specific events or childhood trauma. Many people who go through traumatic events have difficulty adjusting and coping with their lives.  Trauma is neither a physical nor psychological problem. It's a normal response to an abnormal event. My goal is to help people understand that symptoms are real and can be healed.
Life Coaching
Some clients prefer life coaching as they are experiencing changes or challenges in life. You can achieve both personal and professional goals through coaching and discover your life purpose through examining your desires, abilities, needs and passion. Together we discover the solutions and strategies to get you there.
I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in 2005.
Before becoming a therapist, I was a high school teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District and in Latin America. My experience as a teacher and later as a therapist facilitating community mental health programs in the schools has allowed me to obtain invaluable skills and experience, as well as understanding of the educational system.  And I love working with teens!
I enjoy working with couples to help them to improve their emotional connection, which is a focus in my practice. I am a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator. I have led groups and seminars for teens, parents, and couples desiring to improve their relationship.
