As a Christian counsellor I recognize that belief in God is critical to anyone’s well-being and is a source of strength and healing. We are all impacted by our physical, mental/emotional and spiritual health. In counselling with Christians, I integrate counselling principals that are consistent with Christian faith and scripture. I use Christian truths to support people in finding hope and reaching their goals. I help individuals explore, find strength, and integrate change while considering their mental, physical and spiritual needs in their relationship with God. I provide a safe place for people to explore their faith and develop it in an accepting, non-judgemental relationship.

Some of our psychologists grew up Catholic and in a Catholic school system. They are spiritual and often times incorporate and embrace their spirituality into aspects of therapy that they employ, whether that be in the form of general spirituality or religion. Our psychologists are quite familiar with the beliefs of the Catholic Church and the different rituals, and use spirituality to empower people and help them find meaning in circumstances, if appropriate for the client.
