As much as I have a positive personal faith, I do not impose it on any clients. However, some clients desire to address their issues from a Christian perspective and value system. After understanding the client's own Christian perspective, counselling would focus on understanding how to more deeply apply Biblical truth to their life. It is also important to acknowledge that some Christians have been deeply scarred by religious abuse, which has hurt their relationship with God. Helping the client decipher healthy versus unhealthy theology helps to shed old unhealthy thinking and gives freedom.

Spiritual abuse and conflict occur more often than expected. It is my passion to help individuals move towards both psychological and spiritual wellness, despite being hurt by religion. Prayer can be incorporated into therapy sessions if the client is comfortable with this approach. My goal is to improve a client's overall wellbeing, so that they may feel emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually healthy.

Including faith in the counselling conversation is incredibly important if you are a Christian, as it affects every part of the believer's life. This isn't only about talking with someone who shares a worldview - it's about working together with a counsellor who can help you navigate issues like anxiety, trauma, mental health disorders and relationships within the larger narrative of God's plan and calling on your life.

Parent/child counseling based on Christian principles will be offered upon the parent's request. Biblical principles will be used to help strengthen family relationships and facilitate optimal development for children.

Some of our psychologists grew up Catholic and in a Catholic school system. They are spiritual and often times incorporate and embrace their spirituality into aspects of therapy that they employ, whether that be in the form of general spirituality or religion. Our psychologists are quite familiar with the beliefs of the Catholic Church and the different rituals, and use spirituality to empower people and help them find meaning in circumstances, if appropriate for the client.
