Starting a career for the first time, or making a change to your career down the line can both feel daunting. One might find themselves with lots of questions and uncertainty with no clear direction of where to turn. I help people work through the stress and worries that accompany any type of career transition. Together we will collaborate on a stable plan of action, and uncover additional resources that may be beneficial to you in taking the next steps on your path to success.

I support individual clients experiencing burnout, compassion fatigue, and mental and emotional exhaustion. I often work with Highly Sensitive People, or empaths, who are more susceptible to these experiences. I support those in helping professions like teachers, therapists, parents, medical professionals, and difficult work environments create their boundaries in their workspace for personal well-being.

Within the work of career counseling, there are generally themes that exist. These can include: issues with bosses or co-workers, lack of fulfillment, feelings of stress or overwhelm, difficulty creating balance between work and home life, or low motivation. Once we identify what is causing career related issues, we can identify specific interventions to address these issues. Some of these can include: effective communication skills, boundary and limit setting, ways to create structure, calming strategies to cope with stress, and values exercises to explore what aspects of work do energize you. By implementing appropriate strategies; you can experience fulfillment with work.

Career Counseling is about change. Whether you are changing a career position, seeking a new field, or a student changing a major, the core of career counseling is preparation and the understanding of your goals and how they affect your life as a whole. In my practice, I do not use assessments or aptitude tests, as I believe the client is the best source of information. Together we will review your education, interests, work history and the reasons to make a change at this time in your life. Additionally, we will evaluate your level of risk taking, relationships and approaches to pursue a new career path. My style is comprehensive and tailored to you to help your reach your career goals.
